Some best ways to save Our World

Some best ways to save Our World

1) Spread the word about conservation
Any way you can - get people to think about the earth. There are almost 6 billion people on this earth, and every one of them needs to take care of it!  Always look for environment-safe products and encourage others to do the same. From recycling to buying less packaging to planting trees to saving water to conserving energy, keep the environment in mind.

2) Recycle, recycle, recycle
Recycle as much as you can – paper, glass, plastics, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, compost able food,

3) Re-use your plastic bags
Plastic takes over 100 years to biodegrade!  When you go shopping, reuse plastic bags from a prior trip or bring a cloth bag or backpack.

4) Don't buy products with lots of packaging
The more packaging, the more cost. If you see a small product (for example, a toothbrush) wrapped in five layers of plastic with a flashy cardboard insert all in a box made of a foam-like plastic, chances are most of the price is because of the packaging. Find a similar product with less packaging. Also stay away from individually wrapped products.

5) Buy fresh produce from Display Bins
Select fresh produce from display bins instead of the pre-packaged variety. The more packaging, the more price, and (more importantly) the more garbage in the landfills.

6) Plant a tree
Either buy a plant or find a tree (like a maple) that produces seeds every spring, collect a few, and plant them. Start them in pots until they're at least a foot tall and then plant them.  It's a great way to save the earth's oxygen!

7) Put a bottle in your toilet
Fill a plastic liter bottle with water, put on the cap tightly and then put it in the back part of your toilet cistern. Since the average toilet uses 3 to 7 gallons of water per flush, the bottle will displace some water, so your toilet will use ½ - 1 gallon less each time someone uses it!

8) If you don't need a light on, don't use one!
If it's a bright sunny day, don't turn on a light that you don't need. If you're going to be in a room for only a minute, try to go without any electric lights at all. Most houses have enough windows that you won't need to use lights for most of the daytime. If you do have to turn on a light, turn on only as many as you need and for only the time that you need it on.

9) Buy organically-grown foods
Most grocery stores now have organic sections where you can purchase all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and cereals that have had no chemical fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicides. Show the stores you care by buying these things! They'll be better for you and for the earth because no chemicals are going into the soil or water.

10) Don’t endanger animals
Don't buy clothes or objects made of ivory, tortoise shell, coral, or reptile skins. They come from endangered animals or plants.

11) Put on a sweater!
Put on a sweater instead of turning up the heat.

12) Keep the fridge door closed
Open the fridge when you've decided what you want to eat--not while you decide.

13) Warming something up?
A microwave oven uses one-third the energy of a conventional oven.

14) Turn the tap off when brushing/washing!
When you brush your teeth, wet the brush, and then turn off the water until you need to rinse. The average bathroom tap runs at about 2 gallons of water per minute. That means every time you brush your teeth or when you wash your hands with the water running, you use about 4 gallons of water. If you brush your teeth twice and wash your hands three times per day, it adds up to 600 gallons of water per month.

15) Take a shower
Choose wisely: A shower uses 3 to 5 gallons of water per minute. A full bathtub uses 36 gallons.

16) Water the garden at the right time
If you water a lawn or garden, do it in the morning or evening when water won't evaporate as easily.

17) Inflate your tires/tyres
Keep your car tires/tyres inflated to the proper pressure to improve fuel economy and extend the life of the tires/tyres.

18) Buy a light colored car
Choose a light-colored car with tinted glass to lessen the need for air conditioning.

19) Turn Off Your Car Engine
If your car is going to be idling for more than 45 seconds, it’s more fuel-efficient to turn the engine off and restart the car again when you are ready to move.

20) Buy recycled products
Paper, packaging, plastic containers, cardboard, and other products are being sold that have been recycled. Don't confuse "recycled" with "recyclable"! Lots of companies will put the recycling symbol or "100% recyclable" on their products to appeal to ecologists. While that is all fine and good, "made from recycled waste" or "post-consumer waste" is what you really want. If you buy recycled notebook paper, no one will really care if your paper is a shade greyer than the non-recycled kind.

21) In general, don't use disposable products at all
Diapers/Nappies, pens, razors, towels; they're all disposable, so there are many ways to help the earth this way.  Don’t use paper towels--old t-shirts or towels work fine as messy-use rags. What's the use of using disposable razors if you have to buy a new bag every other week? It will save you money just to get a good one to keep using! In other words, don't get sucked into the world of simple disposable items because "it's easy and convenient."

22) Keep a cloth handy in the house
Instead of using paper towels, keep a cloth towel by the sink and use it to dry your hands or wipe up spills.

23) Use rechargeable batteries
Although they may cost more to buy, rechargeable batteries will save you 10 or 20 times the original cost (by not buying new batteries over and over again), and not get thrown in the trash. Prolong the life of any batteries by using a cord (and AC adapter, if necessary) for radios and other appliances when possible.

24) Make your house energy efficient
Use energy efficient light bulbs and energy-efficient appliances.

25) "Recycle" your clothes
Don’t throw away the clothes that no longer fit or are unwanted. Donate your clothes to the needy or to other clothing drives for the poor. If you can’t find anywhere then take them to the Salvation Army. If you want to make money, try having a garage sale or take the clothes to a resale shop.

26) Use both sides of paper
Save paper that has been used on one side for the next time you need to jot something down quickly. Having a few pages of "scrap" paper around is a good way to keep your self from wasting new sheets each time.

27) Buy Less = Less rubbish

28) Keep your fridge at the right temperature
Avoid keeping refrigerator or freezer too cold. Government recommended temperature for fresh food is 38 degrees F. For freezers it’s 5 degrees F.

29) Close Cooling Vents
There is no reason to cool the portions of your house that you are not going to be in. Walk around your house and close the cooling vents in all the rooms where you don’t spend a lot of time. This will help your air conditioner work less (and thus save energy and money) than if you had all the vents open. Just be sure that there is not a temperature sensor in the room when you close the vents.

30) Buy Local
Much of the produce that we eat now has been shipped or flown from many miles away. Not only does this pollute the environment and we pay the price for  the cost of the shipping (i.e. gasoline or diesel) and the packing, but this produce has been grown as specific varieties that can survive the hardships of early picking and transportation, so we lose in numbers of varieties as well as in nutrition.

31) Use Half The Amount Try using half the amount of the products you use every day
Most of your everyday household products will work just as well when you use half the amount that you are currently using. Some that you might consider using this method with are laundry detergent, shampoo, cleaning supplies, etc.

32) Put A Towel In The Dryer
Get the most absorbent towel you can find and place it near your Dryer. Each time you put in a new load of clothes to dry, also throw in the towel. This absorbent towel will reduce the time it takes for the entire load to dry and will save approximately 10% of the energy use.

33) Turn down Your Water Heater Temperature
Most water heaters are set at a higher temperature than they need to be. Adjust your water heater down to 130°F and you will save 3% to 5% on the cost of heating your water for every 10°F the temperature is reduced. On the gas water heaters, all it takes is a turn of the temperature knob to accomplish this. Electric heaters are a little more complex so you may need to seek assistance if you are not mechanically inclined.

34) Shop with a Tote
Instead of using the store's plastic bags, bring a bio-degradable tote! Over 10 million plastic bags from shoppers end up in dumps every year. You can make a difference in this number with your tote!

35) Control the Use of Paper
If you have to print something, minimize the use of paper by print it back and forth. Or use lapsed paper. This is because the more you use paper the more trees will be cut down.

36) Turn Food into Fuel
So far, benzene and solar are used as main fuel for our vehicle. Beside they are from earth oil that can't be renewed, this kind of fuel generates CO2 as well. Why don't you use bio diesel and bio ethanol? This kind of fuel comes from renewable resource, which generates less emission.

37) Avoid Using Screen Saver
If you have to leave your computer in on condition, turn off the screen saver. Instead of saving energy, it consumes more energy and also generates CO2. Turn off your computer when you have to leave it, can reduce CO2 emission until 83%, and 63Kgs/year. Get yourself used to using laptop than desktop computer, according WWF, laptop consume less energy than desktop computer. Also turn off your TV, Hi Fi , and home theater when you don't need them rather than put it on standby condition.

38) Change the Bulb
Let's change LED bulb with CFL or neon that consume less energy. By using CFL, you can save energy in significant amount. Although CFL has little energy, 5-20 watt, its light as bright as LED. If you use CFL appropriately, it could last 2 years!. But now there is SSL (Solid State Lightning), this kind of bulb has the same concept of LED. But it's an active one. It consume less energy than LED, but it's more expensive than LED.

39) Check Your tire/tyre pressure
This is because the tire/tyre that lack pressure, require more fuel, Why? when the tire/tyre is lacked of pressure, its effective diameter will wane because of vehicle weight pressure. Consequently, it will reduce the range of tire/tyre rotation, It cause the tire/tyre to rotate more to go the same distance.

40) Take Off Your Tie
In 2005, Japan Prime minister Yunichiro Koizumi suggest the Japan employees not to use their tie and wear a cozy shirt in office during summer. He also asked every office to set AC in 28 degree. In one summer, that policy succeeded to reduce CO2 emission until 71.700 ton.

41) Drive Smartly
Turn off your vehicle when you are waiting someone or something. Since in idle condition, your vehicle has a low rotation, fuel can't burn perfectly in this condition. Consequently, it generates more CO2 and N2O. We should better warm up our vehicle before using it, since the cool machine generates more emission than warm one.

42) Open Your Windows
In America, more than 22,7 ton of emission are generated by house. We can reduce the CO2 emission by controlling the use AC. Just open your windows to get our house cooler or use energy thrift AC. Also maintain a distant between your refrigerator and wall, since the heat will cause your refrigerator to consume more energy.

43) Use Organic Fertilizer
When the farmer fertilize the his field, some of the fertilizers contain nitrogen that transform into N2O, which cause glass house effect, effect that is 320 times more severe than CO2! Switch to compost that can be used from organic litter. This kind of fertilizer cause only 20 times more severe than CO2.

44) Plant Bamboo Tree
Bamboo can absorb CO2 4 times more than other tree, since it grows faster. But only planting bamboo tree in a plenty numbers that can make this tree to absorb CO2 faster than releasing it.

45) Use Public Transportation
Transportation contributes 14% glass house effect emission. So, we better use public transportation, beside we can help to reduce the number of CO2 emission, we can also save our money to buy fuel.

46) Reduce Beef Consumption
International meat industry is suggested to contribute 18% world emission. Cattle, for instance, generate 60 liters of CH4/day, when the grass is fermented in its digestion.

47) Reduce The Use of Plastic Bag
Here is the fact: plastic bag which we carry from supermarket, mall, or store will end up in garbage-can. Every year, 500% are distributed in the world, only 3% of them are recycled. Whereas, plastic bag require 1000 years to be asunder, and also generate dangerous emission. It's better to use cotton bag or natural-fiber bag when you are shopping.

48) Buy Local Product
Local food Product and beverage don't need distant range distribution. It means, less CO2 will be generated by car to ship the food and beverage.

49) Leave the car at home
The next time you need to go somewhere, think twice before you get the car out. Walk or ride your bike whenever possible.
